Nubia Consuelo Acua de Guarisma was born in El Amparo, a border town located on the banks of the Arauca River, Paez Municipality, Apure State, Venezuela. During her childhood, her family moved to San Juan de Los Morros, Guárico State, where she attended elementary school in the “República de Brasil” School Group. He attended high school and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities through the Direction of Teaching Support in the same San Juan de Los Morros.
Her educational training molded her temperament, strengthening her dynamism and permanent activity, in search of teaching action. She obtained her degree in Education at the Central University of Venezuela on March 7, 1975. She strengthens her vocation as a youth educator and increases her training by obtaining a Doctorate in Philosophy and Letters at the University of Navarra, Spain on November 24, 1980.
Subsequently, at the Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua, he obtained the Postdoctorate in Education in the First Promotion on July 21, 2005.
He teaches at the School of Education of the University of Carabobo, where he retired as Professor.
Dr. Nubia, tireless and disciplined in her actions, is the main axis as co-founder of the Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua from its beginnings in 1981 until its creation in 1986.
Once the operation of the University was approved on June 15, 1986, she was appointed Dean of Research, Extension and Graduate Studies, by Resolution No. SO2-004 dated 11-28-1986.
From this position he initiates and develops an activity of constant growth in the educational task with direct incidence in the formation of professionals in the area of research eager for knowledge that strengthens their perspectives of professionalization and specialization; without neglecting, also, the University Extension to which he dedicated special attention.
As of December 3, 1991, she was appointed Vice Chancellor for Academics until 2001.
Her work at the Vice Rector’s Office was of permanent action in the academic structuring for its adaptation to the necessary changes in the optimization of its operation. During this period she was Rector in charge for short periods of time on twenty (20) occasions.
From 2001 to 2005, she was again appointed Dean of Research, Extension and Graduate Studies.
The knowledge acquired through his time at the Academic Vice Rector’s Office allows him to fulfill his vision and perspectives regarding the necessary changes for the curricular updating of the Master’s, Specialization and Doctoral Programs in Educational Sciences.
For his teaching activities he has received several awards, among which the following stand out:
- Merit Honor Button, UBA in June 1992.
- Diploma of Recognition to the Postgraduate Staff of the UBA, in June 2001.
- Diploma of Recognition to the Promoter Group of the Project for the Creation of the UBA, June 2001.
- Plaque of Recognition, Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua June 2001.
- Doctorate Honoris Causa, Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua, June 2001.
- Button of Honor for 20 years of service to the Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua.
Dr. Nubia Consuelo Acua de Guarisma’s extensive academic and professional management career represents a milestone in the history of teaching, research and university extension, impacting the destinies of generations that have made a difference in different areas of professional work.
